Art on the menu
December 17, 2012
I am delighted to announce that Gonzalo, owner of Bedford's premier Italian restaurant, Riobello, in St Mary's Street (www.riobello.co.uk) has invited me to have some of my works on permanent display. 'I love the vibrancy and bright colours in Sue's work,' he said.
I am very grateful to him for his kind offer of encouragement and support. I have hung a selection of my prints in various positions throughout the restaurant and Gonzalo has told me they are already making an impact with diners. The plan is to 'rotate' the works on display, and to add new ones from time to time.
Return to The Cheese Kitchen
December 7, 2012
Following the success of my first display at The Cheese Kitchen in Castle Road, Bedford, I have been asked to show some more of my work for a couple of weeks in the run-up to Christmas. Thanks to Justin and Helen for their continuing support.

It has been many years since I painted on silk and the process reminded me of how instantly satisfying and exciting it is when the colours transform a plain piece of silk and flood across it like magic.
Anyway, that project kept me busy for a while before I returned to my canvasses.
Say Cheese (Kitchen)
September 20, 2012
I have had six paintings on display at The Cheese Kitchen bistro in Castle Road, Bedford since the start of the month. Previously a delicatessen/cheese shop, the owners have revamped the original premises and turned it into a coffee shop/bistro. They are selecting an artist of the month and I was the first person to be chosen.
The feedback so far has been excellent. It feels great to have some of my work 'out there' and hopefully this is the first of many public showings to come.

I have made a couple of appearances in the local press in the last few weeks.
My Union Lights painting has been attracting attention – it seems its predominant use of red, white and blue has brought out the patriotic side of those who have seen it, encouraged, no doubt, by the national fervour which has surrounded the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympic Games in London.
Bedfordshire on Sunday's Midweek newspaper featured a photograph taken on Bedford Embankment of me with the painting. A couple of weeks later the paper's Judy Riley wrote and excellent profile, accompanied by a photograph taken at my display in The Cheese Kitchen, Bedford (see September 20 entry, above).

Mick (Sharp) – my partner/manager/PR – and I travelled down to Surrey to collect a dozen prints of various shapes and sizes from our printers, Eyes Wide Digital. They have done a really great job.
My next project was to hand-emebellish each of the prints to give them their own unique character.
Some of the prints will be on display at a month-long exhibition in Bedford which is due to start soon. They are also available to buy, and already there has been a lot of interest and positive feedback.
My prints will come
July 22, 2012
Any day now, I will be taking delivery of my first batch of Giclee prints, and the excitement is mounting in the studio. The printers we have sourced produce the highest quality work, and also supply the London Royal Parks, Dulwich Picture Gallery and one of the biggest publishers in the country which deals with works by artists such as Bob Dylan, Alex Echo and Paul Kenton. Exalted company indeed.
Some of the prints will be on display at a new bistro/wine bar being set up by the proprietors of The Cheese Kitchen in Castle Road, Bedford.
